Fact: I am heading to Boston in T-3 days on a train.
Fact: I have not begun to clean my room.
Fact: Arne Duncan threw a pizza party for all of the interns today. He was going around thanking people and all the interns were staring at him all googly-eyed (spelling?).
Fact: Arne said to my table "Thanks for all the work you do. I really appreciate it." I joked back "And thanks for the pizza. It's not as good as getting paid, but I'll take it." Arne laughed. All the interns then laughed really hard (notice they waited for him to laugh). Arne made a joke back and again, we bonded.
Fact: I am gaining power and influence with every additional day that I am here. Perhaps it is good that I leave DC so it doesn't go too much to my head.
Fact: I have loved DC. I have loved the people I met here. I am going to miss it a lot.
